Car Maintenance Check List
Engine Oil Maintenance
(Check engine oil when adding fuel.)
-Recommended oil weight 5w/20
-Regular type oil should be changed every 3,000 miles (on the average)
-Synthetic type oil should be changed every 20,000 miles (on the average) or when oil becomes black.
Note: Oil filter only at 3,000 miles
Transmission
- Automatic Transmission oil should be changed every 6,000 miles
- Synthetic Transmission oil should be changed every 100,000 miles
- Manual gear oil should be changed once a year
- Synthetic gear oil should be changed at 100,000 miles
- Differential oil should be changed once a year
Wheels
- Wheel bearings should be repacked every time a brake job is done
- Wheel bearings repacked with synthetic grease lasts lifetime of car
- Tires should be rotated every 6,000 miles
- Check tire pressure once a week
o Note: Should be at maximum pressure for tire used. 35lbs minimum
- Brakes should be checked every 10,000 miles
- Brakes should be flushed once a year
o Note: Brakes using DOT 4 fluid should be flushed every 2 years
- Radiator should be flushed once a year and add Purple Ice.
- Air conditioning should be serviced once every 2 years and change A.C Air filter.
- Air filter should be replaced whenever necessary (visual check)
- K&N brand air filter – lifetime clean out only
- Fuel filter should be replaced once a year
- Fuel quality should be 92 octane or better
- Add 5 mothballs and 1 oz. of WD-40 per gallon of gas
- Or Samurai fuel additive (808-942-2500)
- Every 3000 miles use Royal Purple Fuel Additive.

- Spray silicone on all rubber and plastic parts underneath, inside, and outside of vehicle once a month

- Wax car when feels sticky (not smooth and slick), more often if dark colored car or in the sun a lot

- Mothers Show and Shine in between wax jobs as a touch-up

- Install the Auto Saver rust proofing for old and new cars
